‍Day 2 at SHOT Show

‍I started my day at what I consider to be the most Premier Riflescope maker there is, Tangent Theta. Whether you're looking for a Hunting or Tactical Scope, if you want the best then you want a Tangent. I had a great time catching up with the guys there, they're so great. Nothing new to report. They, at this time, have no new to announce products. If anything happens mid-year I'll let you know.

Next I stopped by Warne. Last year they released their new HyperLite Series Rings - "The Warne® HyperLite™ scope rings are the ultimate lightweight optic mounting solution. Again, nothing revolutionary to report, other than nothing has changed thankfully, still Made in the USA.

About 2 months ago we became an authorized dealer for Telson Optics. After receiving a scope for evaluation we were impressed and decided to carry their products. Here is a link to the Telson Target Master 5-32x56 Review our analyst posted on one of the forums.They do not have countless amounts of scopes, but the few they offer are priced well vs the competition and are great quality. Available scopes in SFP and FFP.Their Telson Target Master Victory 5-32x56 IR FFP - MRAD ED and their Telson Toxin 3-18×50 IR FFP Gen 2 MRAD ED are made in Japan, the Arc Series and Target Master 5-25x56 IR FFP - MRAD ED are assembled in China with Japanese optics.It was good to sit down with the guys from Telson as we have only "met" over the phone. Things you should know. Telson is a family owned and operated business. A Canadian family, Telson ships from Texas, who purchased Scorpion Optics strictly for the existing "infrastructure" not for anything that Scorpion had in their line as Scorpions offerings, quite honestly, sucked. Kinda like buying a restaurant that went out of business for the building, already ready to go kitchen and dining room. New chef, staff and management makes it a brand new business. This is what they did. The 2 brothers, Josh and Jared seem like great guys who are knowledgeable and are looking to put out a high quality competitive product. I'm glad we are now an authorized dealer.

As many of you are, or should be, aware Gunwerks is who owns and distributes Revic Optics and Tripods with Riflescopes, Rangefinders, Spotting Scopes and a great line of Tripods. This was who my next meeting was with. Good news is the BR4 Ballistic Rangefinders will be back in stock shortly. I was shown their new Acura RS3-18x44 HD Illuminated FFP Riflescope. More intel will follow soon so stay tuned.

At the end of the year Athlon started running low on inventory of a few series of riflescopes. This is attributed to them switching production away from China to the Philippines and Japan on many of their riflescopes. I had been very close with my Athlon rep, however, last Summer he called to let me know he got a position in the Pipe Fitters Union and was moving on. I was happy for him as he is married with 3 kids and a union job with pension and medical for him was a no question move. Very sad for me as I like to build relationships with the folks we work with and Drake is a great guy. Well, its about time I met our new rep. Trenton seems to be a good guy. We chatted for a bit and I feel the transition from Drake to Trenton can be good for us, as well as you, as he seems to be very customer service oriented and he's very knowledgeable.Their new product line is basically a major overhaul of their riflescopes.
